How am I a Summer?

  • Summer is one of the two cool seasons, so individuals who are summers have cool undertones.

  • You are most complimented by softer colors that are considered closer to neutrals rather than bold.

  • Summer is the nautical season.

  • Summer is low contrast.

  • Summer has toned down or brushed shades.

How can I be more than one season?

  • It is typical for there is one season color palette that is the main, or first season. A second season palette may then be introduced, as it compliments the individual

  • You may have a neutral skin tone, rather than completely warm or cool.

  • You may have a combination of cool and warm features, when this is the case different colors and undertones will compliment you differently.

  • Power colors (best colors) are seasonal agnostic, so warm vs. cool aside, that color will compliment you.

  • If your skin gains color from the sun, then your color palette may open to colors that you don’t love when you have less color.

  • As a summer your cheek colors to consider are the cool toned berry, pinks, even a pink/lavender rather than coral and brick red colors.

foundation

  • As a summer you are cool toned and will need more of a beige foundation rather than warm.

Eyes

  • Your eyeshadow is a decision based on your skin tone, eye color, and personality.

  • Cool tone eyeshadows

Cheeks

Lips

  • Like the cheeks, your lip colors to consider are the cool toned berry, pink, deeper purple, blue red rather than corals and orange/red colors.

When you know a color is for you

  • Your face may glow, tan, or a highlight

  • Your eyes may pop or change color

  • The whites of your eyes may be fierce

  • You may get color in your cheeks or lips

  • Your lips may look more full

  • Your facial structure may be more visible

  • Even your hair can pop

  • You may look fierce, sexy, innocent, or fun in certain colors

Summer Energy

When you know a color is not for you

  • You won’t pop

  • You will look washed out

  • Your face may look flat

  • You may disappear with the color

  • You may feel harsh

  • It can also emphasize an undertone of our skin that you may not want. The most common are yellow, red, blue, and green.

This may sound crazy, but from doing color analysis on hundreds of women I have found that certain personality traits are largely aligned with summer.

  • You gravitate to neutrals. You may be a quiet type and have a lightness to you that people enjoy, but think twice about crossing you. You are intriguing, people often get lost in your appearance. You have a strong heart.
