How to tell if white or cream is best for you.
The 4 color seasons will lead you to believe that you can only wear white if you have cool undertones, and cream if you have warm undertones, but that isn’t it. TSometimes the answer is one or the other, sometimes the answer is both! Take a peek at my recommendations to further understand what is best for you, why it’s not solely dependent on your undertones, and how to wear both.
Cool undertones: If you have cool undertones, white will make you look more bright and vibrant. Cream might make you appear flush or dissappear a bit.
Warm Undertones: If you have warm undertones, cream will bring out your warmth and look harmonious. It will give you more color than white, and white may appear harsh or wash you out.
A mix of both cool and warm undertones: This means you are neutral, you have both warm and cool, not neither. Neutral undertones will not lose much color in their skin tone between white and cream, so both it is! Lucky.
Do you gain color from sun exposure? If you have warm undertones and have a lot of color, or gain color from the sun, you may also have appreciation for white. Sometimes the right contrast comes into play and not just whether you are cool or warm undertoned. If you have cool undertones and gain color from the sun, it may add some warmth to your skin and cream may beocme a complimenting color during those times of the year.
Look at yourself in the mirror, I mean really look at yourself. If you like it, it most likely is working for you.
Layering: Most likely white or cream is not the only color that you are wearing, and those other colors in your outfit play a role. Layering makes more colors possible.
If white or cream makes you feel washed out or brings forward your imperfections then don’t wear it closest to your face.
